When I first saw the flyer for Skate with a Cop, it caught my attention. I have photographed tons of community events throughout the east coast, but I haven’t heard of an ice skating event with a local police department (an awesome job with creativity Westport PD!). I have heard Coffee with a Cop but this was a new adventure.
When I got to the ice rink at the Longshore the temperature in my car was already in the mid 40’s, there was a steady flowing crowd of children and families who were making their way to the ice rink. As I walked around the rink I could not notice the smiles on the skaters faces, the officers walking around with coffee in hand while enjoying the moment.

Its the community events like this that make my job here at Finding Westport possible and worth while.
