A celebrated new work of American theater is coming to Westport Country Playhouse as Primary Trust takes the stage from April 14 through May 2.
The 2024 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Eboni Booth tells the story of Kenneth, a quiet and routine-driven man whose life is upended when he loses his job. As he navigates unexpected change, the story unfolds into a heartfelt exploration of friendship, courage, and community.
Directed by Logan Vaughn, the production blends humor and emotional insight, offering audiences an intimate and uplifting theatrical experience. The play has earned national acclaim, including recognition as a Critic’s Pick by The New York Times.
The cast features Jasminn Johnson, Greg Stuhr, Alphonso Walker Jr., and Lance Coadie Williams, bringing a range of stage and screen experience to the Playhouse stage.
In addition to performances, the Playhouse will host a variety of special events, including themed nights, talkbacks and community-focused programming throughout the run.
Tickets are available now, with performances scheduled Tuesdays through Sundays. The production runs approximately 90 minutes without intermission and is recommended for ages 13 and up.
