Broadway performer and Westport native Mia Gentile to mentor young singers at local a cappella summer camp

Westport native and Broadway performer Mia Gentile is returning to her hometown this August to mentor young singers. She will participate as the featured guest artist at the A Cappella Central Summer Camp.

During the program, Gentile will lead a specialized masterclass for the participants. Her instruction will focus on stage presence, storytelling through song, and authentic performance techniques.

Following the masterclass instruction, Gentile will rehearse directly with the campers. She is also scheduled to join the student performers onstage for the program’s final public concert.

The summer camp is designed specifically for students in grades 3 through 12. The program brings together young singers from across Fairfield County for a week focused on ensemble singing, vocal technique, musicianship, performance, and collaboration.

Organizers state the camp provides students with opportunities to learn from experienced educators and guest artists. The curriculum is designed to help participants build confidence and community through music.

The public is invited to attend the final camp concert on Saturday, August 22, at 1:00 p.m. The performance will take place at Greens Farms Church, located at 71 Hillandale Road in Westport, where campers will perform alongside Gentile.

To help make the program accessible to more families, A Cappella Central is offering a free tuition raffle. For every 10 students who register for the program, one participant will be randomly selected to attend the camp free of charge.
