Westport Country Playhouse will host Kevin Flynn’s one-man show, “Fear of Heights – A Very Funny Phobia,” on Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. The performance is presented as part of the venue’s Barnstormer Series inside the Lucille Lortel White Barn Center.
Written and performed by Flynn under the direction of Conor Bagley, the biographical show explores Flynn’s choice to forge a career outside of his family’s lineage of New York City steelworkers. The narrative centers on his relationship with his grandfather, Paddy Flynn, who was photographed in the 1932 image “Lunch Atop a Skyscraper.”
After starting out in professional soccer, Flynn won the Boston Comedy Riot and established a career across television, film, and sports broadcasting. His credits include appearances in HBO’s Sex and the City and the film The World’s Greatest Beer Run, alongside sports coverage for ESPN and Fox Sports.
Tickets for the show are priced at $20 for general admission seating, with a recommended age rating of PG-13. The performance runs approximately 70 minutes.
The Barnstormer Series uses the cozy setting of the Lucille Lortel White Barn Center to offer local and visiting artists space for play readings, music, and performance projects. The Westport Country Playhouse is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
