How it started

Did you ever find yourself in an unfamiliar place and you find yourself learning more about this new place? That was me back in 2017 when I was driving from Norwalk to get on the Merritt Parkway but was in the wrong lane. I wasn’t going to be *that* jerk in traffic trying to squeeze myself into the left lane and annoy people trying to get to where they needed to be. I figured there was a place to turn around close by and I would head back to where I was going. A view a few minutes later changed everything I was sitting in traffic on the Post Road Bridge on a late June morning in awe over the view of Downtown Westport. I like to tell this story that I was in the wrong lane at the right time, it was my first trip over the Post Road bridge that sent my life into a new direction. After a year of research and not finding the answers I was looking for I decided to start Finding Westport on Instagram. Where I posted photos, and a weekly open house list, and engaged in other accounts to answer the one question I was seeking answers to, which was “What’s in Westport?”

I believe things happen for a reason and if I did not cross over the Post Road Bridge and fall in love with Downtown Westport, I don’t know where I would be today. Finding Connecticut would have never been created nor Finding Westport. I do know Westport is a special place and I (and a few writers of mine) are out to find what makes Westport so magical.

I will be sharing good news only, no fires, accidents, or crime stories here. I am always looking to tell me how they are connected to Westport, don’t be hesitant to tell me your Westport story and how you got here.

Where we are heading

Life, going back to school (any Penn Staters out there?) and a server issue threw my plans out of whack for a few years but I am happy to say Finding Westport is returning with stronger content than before.

If you are wondering the Findings pages have grown to cover Connecticut, New York City and The Hudson Valley.

Who knows pineapple might return too!
