New Westport-based practice NeuroMind offers affirming support for neurodivergent families

Lauren Rosenblum

Two local moms and therapists, Lauren Rosenblum, a Westport native, and Chelsea Elkind, a recent Westport transplant, have teamed up to launch NeuroMind, a fresh and affirming space supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families.

Rooted in both professional expertise and personal experience, Rosenblum and Elkind bring a unique, human-centered approach to therapy. As a speech-language pathologist and occupational therapist, respectively, they created NeuroMind to fill a gap they saw in traditional services; an approach that embraces neurodivergence, utilizes “superpowers” and identifies vulnerabilities, rather than trying to “fix” people.

“In a world that too often pathologizes difference, we want to help people understand how their brains work, learn to love and celebrate that, and help them achieve their unique life goals.”

Following a recent feature on Dan Woog’s 06880, NeuroMind received an overwhelming response from local families eager for this type of support. Since then, the team has been invited to speak in front of parenting groups at Westport Library, train local fitness instructors to work with neurodivergent clients, and was recently spotlighted on the Westport Downtown Association’s Instagram page.

Services range from executive functioning coaching and social connection building to speech therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, and career development. Clients are seen both in person and virtually, and often meet in community locations like local coffee shops to foster real-world skills and comfort.

“NeuroMind offers more than a service. It’s a shift in how we think about differences and how we support people in unlocking their self-understanding, self-acceptance, and reaching their fullest potential.”
