Westport’s Museum of Contemporary Art \ Connecticut (MoCA\CT) announced that Robin Jaffee Frank, PhD, will serve as its new executive director starting Jan. 1, 2026.
Dr. Frank, a seasoned museum leader and curator, brings extensive experience from major cultural institutions, including the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art and the Yale University Art Gallery. Her work includes the nationally recognized exhibition and award-winning book Coney Island: Visions of an American Dreamland, 1861–2008, which received critical acclaim and increased museum attendance and engagement.
“Robin is an innovative leader whose strategic expertise will position the Museum for long-term success,” said Jodi Felton, MoCA\CT board president. “Her arrival marks the start of a vibrant new era for the institution and the communities we serve.”
Dr. Frank has curated exhibitions and programs at institutions across the U.S., taught at Cooper Union, and published widely on American visual culture and its intersection with contemporary issues. She previously served on MoCA\CT’s Visual Arts Advisory Committee, helping shape the museum’s programs and initiatives.
“MoCA\CT has extraordinary potential—to spark dialogue, expand access to the arts, and bring people together,” Dr. Frank said. “I look forward to working with the Board, staff, and the community to build a vibrant, innovative, and sustainable future for this remarkable institution.”
Pamela Hovland, who led the museum as acting executive director during the search, will continue on the board and oversee the Visual Arts Advisory Committee.
