Westport Country Playhouse will present “Cruel Summer: The Playhouse Playlist,” a back-to-school concert celebrating pop music, on Friday, August 28, at 7 p.m.

The event features the music of chart-topping artists including Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Olivia Dean, and Sabrina Carpenter. Powerhouse vocalists will perform the hit songs alongside a live band.

Drew Wutke serves as the creator, producer, and music director of the upcoming concert. He operates a private coaching studio in New York City, where he is a resident music director.

Wutke is a multi-disciplinary artist who plays piano and music directs on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regionally, and on tour. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with Tony, Emmy, and Grammy winners.

This production marks a return to the Westport Country Playhouse for Wutke. He previously served as music director for the venue’s productions of “From Broadway to Hollywood,” “A Night for Swifties,” and “Me, Myself & Barbra.”
