Westport Book Shop welcomes CLUB203 artists’ exhibition in collaboration with MoCA Gives Back

Westport Book Shop is pleased to welcome the talented community of adult artists from CLUB203 as guest exhibitors for the month of December at the Drew Friedman Art Place inside the Westport Book Shop. This special exhibition is presented in partnership with MoCA Gives Back, a community initiative of The Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA\CT) dedicated to providing arts access and meaningful creative opportunities for under-resourced populations.

This month’s exhibition also coincides with the Westport Book Shop’s 5th Anniversary Celebration, marking five years of providing meaningful employment for adults with disabilities, supporting The Westport Library, and creating a vibrant community gathering place in downtown Westport.  The Book Shop is proud to commemorate this milestone by spotlighting the creative accomplishments of CLUB203 artists, whose work reflects the values of inclusion, opportunity, and community engagement that have guided the organization since its founding.

The exhibit, titled “Veins of the Earth,” features a vibrant selection of artwork created by CLUB203 members.  The artists were thoughtfully led by Agata Tria, an artist and art teacher at MoCA\CT.  Tria works closely with CLUB203 members during monthly CLUB203 events and through summer art classes.  Her love for both art and the CLUB203 community is evident in the magical, expressive work created under her tutelage.

Through the MoCA Gives Back initiative, MoCA\CT works to ensure arts for all by forming partnerships, developing high-quality programming, and strengthening outreach to underserved and under-resourced members of the community.  MoCA Gives Back provides healing arts classes, scholarships, employment opportunities, and collaborative programming with local organizations — work that directly supports and uplifts artists like those in CLUB203.

CLUB203 was founded to meet a pressing need in the community: adults with disabilities have very limited social outlets once their post-secondary support systems end.  Through monthly gatherings, CLUB203’s mission is to create fun, engaging activities for adults with disabilities — building friendships, fostering independence, and providing opportunities for meaningful self-expression, including through the arts.

The Westport Book Shop will hold a reception celebrating CLUB203 Artists and this exhibit on Friday evening, December 19, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Space is limited; please RSVP to the Book Shop by phoning 203-349-5141 or sending an email to RSVP@westportbooksaleventures.org.

Artwork from the CLUB203 Artists Exhibition will be on display through December 31, 2025.

The exhibit is open to the public during the Book Shop’s regular business hours: Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m.
