The Westport Book Shop is pleased to welcome local photographer Rachel Hall as guest exhibitor for the month of August at the Book Shop’s Drew Friedman Art Place. Rachel’s photographs in this exhibit are all of local scenes, and offer a visual narrative deeply connected to the surrounding environment.
Rachel is a detective with the Westport Police Department by profession, and a photographer by passion, blending a sharp eye for detail with an artistic view of the world around her. She specializes in both digital and aerial photography, capturing landscapes with a unique perspective that often highlights mood, texture and atmosphere.
Rachel says that photography offers her a creative outlet beyond the demands of police work, allowing her to explore the world through a different lens. With a career rooted in investigation and observation, Rachel brings a thoughtful and intentional approach to her visual work. Her subjects range from serene coastal scenes to dramatic aerial compositions. Each image is crafted with an appreciation for light, depth and emotion.
The Westport Book Shop will hold a reception for Rachel and her exhibit on Tuesday evening, August 26, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Space is limited; please RSVP to the Book Shop by phoning 203-349-5141 or sending an email to
