Following a sold-out performance last month, Wilton native Chris Brubeck is scheduled to return to the Museum of Contemporary Art Connecticut (MoCA CT) with his trio, Triple Play, on Tuesday, May 19.

The 7 p.m. performance is designed to integrate with the museum’s current exhibition, “Art, Jazz + the Blues.” Brubeck, a multi-instrumentalist who plays piano, bass, and trombone, said the artwork on display served as the primary motivation for the encore appearance.

“I felt tremendously motivated to return to the performance gallery because the artwork—specifically by Eric von Schmidt—so beautifully evokes the American ‘roots’ and Blues traditions that are Triple Play’s specialty,” Brubeck said.

The trio includes Grammy-winning harmonica player Peter “Madcat” Ruth and guitarist Joel Brown. Their repertoire blends blues, folk, and jazz, a combination the Los Angeles Times has described as “rollicking fun.”

The exhibition is on view until June 7, 2026. Tickets for the one-night engagement are available through the museum, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
