Westport Country Playhouse has announced a new installment of its Masterclass Series, “Acting for TV and Film,” specifically designed for students in grades 6-8.
The session will take place Sunday, April 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lucille Lortel White Barn, located adjacent to the Playhouse.
Led by professional actor Liz Fye, the masterclass focuses on the subtle techniques required for on-camera performance. Participants will work on pre-assigned scenes in front of the class, receiving real-time direction to help them practice making adjustments and responding to notes on the spot.
Fye, a member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA, earned her BFA from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Her television and film credits include “Law & Order: SVU,” “Blue Bloods,” “Kings,” “One Life to Live,” and “As the World Turns.”
In addition to her screen work, Fye has appeared in numerous national commercials and has an extensive voiceover portfolio. Her theater credits include performances at the Berkshire Theatre Festival, Human Race Theater, and various New York City workshops, including “Good Vibrations” and “Finding Nemo.”
The masterclass is limited to 12 participants to ensure personalized instruction. The registration fee is $100.
